Evaluation!
I presented a powerpoint presentation on the use of sound within a specific episode of Doctor Who, A good man goes to war - 2011. First of all the presentation could have been far better if I had remembered that there was a presentation due on the date... Therefore the presentation was a rushed effort and based upon my actual understanding of how sound affects media I definitely lost out on this. However the information that i did present showed a Sound understanding (wreyyy) of the subject in hand. I chose this scene in particular as the uses of both diegetic and non-diegetic sound are particularly well used to convey emotion. More specifically feelings of triumph and success. The way that the soundtrack works with the action on screen gives the scene depth. Swag.

  1. Group 7: Dr Who – Matt
    • Good background information and explanation of why you chose the scene
    • Good list of diegetic and non diegetic sounds, although more detail needed
    • Ambient sounds, sfx and recording all covered well but briefly
    • Good observations of how the mood changes and the music matches this through the scene
    • Overall: Most points covered briefly: Pass
    • (note for future presentations, make sure spend enough time preparing for your presentation)
